Makeup Storage/Collection

Hello Everyone!

I personally love seeing what products people have in their own collection so I thought I would do a post on my collection for all the nosy people out there! (including me).

I use the Alex 9 Drawer Unit for my makeup and other things such as nail polish and skincare products.
My brushes mostly consist of Real Techniques but I also have some MAC, Zoeva and xoBeauty brushes.

The first draw consists of my foundations/bb creams, beauty blenders, powders, primers and concealers.

I bought my drawer organisers from Big W but you can also get them at Howards Storage World (but it is more expensive there)

This draw consists of my face powders, such as bronzer, blush and highlight.
Some of my favourites are Hoola by Benefit, Deep Throat by NARS and Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm.

This is my everything about eyes drawer which consists of eye primers, single or small eye shadow palettes, tools such as tweezers and a eyelashes curler, eye liner, brow products and mascara.
I would highly recommend Gimme Brow by Benefit and the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler.

This draw consists of all of my palettes.
I have currently been loving my Eyes Are The Window Eyeshadow Palette in Spirit by Stila.

Last but not least this draw consists of all my lip products.
In the first compartment it contains all of my hydrating products such as lip balms.
In the second it holds all of my lipsticks and in the last container it contains all of my lipgloss.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my collection :)

If you have any questions feel free to ask below in the comments section.

Disclaimer - I am not trying to brag in anyway and I am very lucky to have the makeup that I have. Most of my makeup is bought overseas which means it is cheaper and I also save up for my makeup with my own money.

What I ate | 28/12/14

I thought it would be interesting to start a series of what I eat during the day on my blog as I loved Anna Sacone's "What I Ate" blog posts.

Pre-Breakfast

As I am lactose intolerant , before I consumed my breakfast I took a couple of my lacteeze enzyme tablets so I could eat my breakfast as I knew it contained dairy products.

Breakfast

I went to Top Paddock and ordered the ricotta and blueberry hotcakes which was absolutely delicious. I also had a chai tea with soy milk but I had forgotten to take a picture of it!

Snack

After breakfast, my mum and I went to the chinese grocer and I picked up a soya bean drink.

Lunch

Mum made some homemade spaghetti marinara for lunch which included salmon, squid ,clams and seaweed. I also had a glass of water

Dinner

I went out with my cousins and had a caeser salad.

Products I would not recommend!

Here are a few products that I have tried and I would not recommend buying!

Etude House Beauty Sponge

This product is absolutely horrible! When you add water to it stays rock hard which is the opposite in what you want in a sponge. You would want it to be light and soft not heavy and hard. Compared to the beauty blender this is a rock.

Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector

With this primer you are meant to warm it between your fingers before you apply it to your face. It feels extremely sticky and doesn't set well into my face.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

I used to love this concealer, it provided me with good coverage but the downside for this product is that it broke me out and the pump gave out too much product.

Elf Blush Brush

The quality of this brush isn't very good as after the first time I used it the handle broke off, but at least I didn't pay a lot of money for this brush.

Too Faced No Makeup Makeup Palette

This palette is not worth the money as the concealer is very cakey and too dark for my skin tone. The bronzing veil is more of a highlighter than a bronzer as it is very shimmery and light. It would be better to spend your money elsewhere.

Favourite Non-Beauty Youtubers

Since I have recently uploaded a post all about my favourite beauty Youtubers, I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some other channels which I love that are non beauty related.

This list is in no particular order.

Comment down your favourite Youtubers as I am always in search for new videos to watch!

Studying!

We all know that we would rather spend our time after school relaxing after a hard day but this is not always the case as we have to study.  I thought it would be helpful sharing how I study for tests and exams as we are heading back to school!

For a subject such as Biology or Science, I would gather all my notes that I was given by the teacher and highlight the important sections. It is always handy to ask your teacher if there is a revision sheet or a list of the topics that the test or exam is on as you can focus on studying on those topics.

After highlighting , I make a revision sheet by typing out all the sections I highlighted onto a word document. It is helpful in the long run to type out your notes as you can re-use them for exams without worrying they would get lost.

I would then go through the revision sheet and read through it a couple of times and sometimes I would write out my revision sheet onto a piece of paper. I find writing the information makes me understand the topic better.

For languages or learning vocabulary I find cue cards extremely helpful. I create my cue cards online on the website "Brainscape" as when I usually make paper cue cards I always seem to lose them.

The only bad thing about my study habits is that it takes a lot of effort and time, but in the end when you get a good mark it is all worth it!

Other Helpful Tips!

1. Clear out your work space so you have a neat area to study in. By having a messy work area you are highly likely to get distracted by the objects around you.

2. Don't play music that you are likely to sing to as it will distract you from studying. Trust me when I listen to one direction I can never concentrate properly.

3. For exams, it is helpful to review revisions sheets and cue cards you have made for previous topics and old worksheets you have completed.

4. It is very important to take breaks in-between your study session, as without breaks it can decrease your performance in studying.

5. If you have no motivation, think about something you really want such as maybe a makeup product and if you get a good score on your test you can reward yourself.

I hope these tips helped you!
